Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the seventh and final Harry Potter book, has been crowned the fans' favourite, a survey finds.

JK Rowling's novel, which was released on July 21, topped an MSN Entertainment poll of 45,000 fans.

The third book in the popular series, The Prisoner of Azkaban, finished in second place, followed by The Goblet of Fire in third.

Fourth spot went to The Philosopher's Stone, with The Order of The Phoenix fifth and The Half-Blood Prince sixth.

The Chamber of Secrets was voted as the least popular Harry Potter book.

Deathly Hallows, which was published simultaneously in over 90 countries, broke sales records in the US and the UK.

The novel sold a whopping 11 million copies in its first 24 hours, beating the previous record of nine million copies set by The Half-Blood Prince in 2005.

The books follow the story of a boy wizard and his two school friends as they investigate magical mysteries.

More than 335 million Harry Potter books have been sold worldwide.
