Trainee solicitor Andrew Pheasant has won the prestigious Top Student Award from the Devon and Somerset Law Society.
The 25-year-old, who works at Bond Pearce, scooped the accolade for obtaining the highest position of merit order on the legal practice course and for entering into a training contract with a law firm in Devon.
After studying law at the University of Durham, and after completing his post graduate sports law degree, Andrew undertook his legal practice course at Plymouth University.
He lives in Exeter but works from Bond Pearce's office in Plymouth.
"It is pleasing to receive this award as recognition of many years of hard work and effort that has been put in to reach this stage," said a delighted Andrew.
"I could not have made it this point in my career without the support of many others, especially my tutors."
Gareth Kagan, head of commercial litigation at Bond Pearce, paid tribute to Andrew.
"I'm delighted that Andrew is receiving this well deserved accolade," he said. "There is no doubt that he has the hallmarks of a rising talent.
"His commitment, enthusiasm and hard work make him not only a valuable asset to the team here at Bond Pearce, but also to the clients with whom he works."
