14th March 2008

If you're looking for something unique, spectacular and stimulating to do this summer, then mark the calendar for 16th, 17th and 18th May, as the third edition of the Rocket Festival kicks off once again.

Situated near the hot springs of southern Spain's Alhama de Granada, the festival takes place amidst a dramatic landscape with breathtaking views that stretch out across the Sierra de Almijarra.

A steaming line-up of Spanish and international artists includes Australian drum n bass pioneers, Pendulum, flamenco fusion outfit, Los Delinqüentes and breakbeat warlocks, Coldcut. Also playing are Evil Nine, Serge Santiago, Muchachito Bomba Infierno, Icicle, Groove Allegiance and many more. Meanwhile, sound system pioneers, Innerfield will supply quite possibly the best audio quality you can expect to hear at a festival of this scale. In essence, prepare for a truly unique celebration of cultural unity and an explosive concoction of art, music and dance as we welcome in the summer!

More than just a music event, expect to also indulge in an inspiring fusion of performances, spanning theatrical spectaculars to live art from some of the world's most notorious graffiti artists. Space-themed bars and venues, fire dancers, a natural living area, daredevil extreme sports, film and art installations also feature; while a kids area and outdoor Circus Stage with trapeze artists and tight-rope jugglers create an awe-inspiring three-day extravaganza of fun for all the family.

The festival site itself spills with optimum levels of creativity in design. Spreading across 15-hectares of farmland, the site will be transformed into a surreal landscape of towering alien sculptures, created from industrial machinery by renowned UK free festival renegades, Wrekon (Mutoid Waste). With the myriad of sound systems, artists and performers scattered throughout the site, this year's Rocket Festival fires it up yet again with potent levels of creative energy, promising to quench the thirst of adventurous culture vultures and spirited festival aficionados alike. Pack a tent, a sense of humour and an appetite for unlimited fun.

Tickets for the three-day event cost 65 euros, for further details please visit www.rocketfestival.com
