One of the UK's best known and loved comediennes will be making a rare performance in the South West this autumn.
Jo Brand will be appearing at the Princess Theatre, Torquay, on Saturday 11 October at 7.30pm.
Big hearted Jo will be raising funds for local charity the Devon Air Ambulance Trust.
Jo explained: "I was contacted by Tim Barrs, a staunch supporter of the charity. He asked if I would consider doing a show to raise funds for the charity. It’s such a good cause, which any of us may need to use, and I was delighted to pledge my support."
Heléna Holt, chief Executive of the Devon Air Ambulance Trust, said "We would firstly like to say a big thank you to Jo Brand, who has generously given up her free time to put on this show, which means a great deal to us.
"Thank you also to Tim Barrs for organising this event. It's a lot of hard work, but from events Tim has put on before, for example his Strictly Come Dancing events with star dancers Ian Waite and Camilla Dallerup, we know he is up for the job!"
She added "October is proving to be an extremely special month for the charity as we not only have this show, we are also the main charity for the renowned Commando Challenge, plus early October sees Devon's new EC135 Air Ambulance go into operation.
"This aircraft has been purchased outright by the charity, instead of being leased, meaning substantial financial savings. With fundraising events like this up and coming, together with many put on by supporters across the county, the charity knows the £2.2m needed annually is possible."
