Devon Air Ambulance Trust (DAAT) has issued a statement saluting the hundreds of people who provide the charity fundraisers with small but highly significant contributions, all of which they recognise make a difference to saving lives.
Speaking on behalf of DAAT, Fundraising Director Caroline Creer, said: “As a charity we appreciate each and every donation we receive, whether large or small. It is the large donations that get the headlines, but every single penny makes a difference in helping save a life."
“We are taking this opportunity of recognising the thousands of pounds donated to keep the Devon Air Ambulance flying, donations made up of hundreds and hundreds of small amounts, every one of which has come from the heart.”
Devon has two air ambulances – one based in Exeter, and the other in North Devon. DAAT celebrated its 15th anniversary this year, and the two helicopters have flown in over 12,000 combined missions since launch. Over 50% of Devon can be reached within five minutes, while the remainder can be reached within 15 minutes.
Any contributions to the DAAT are warmly received, and play a vital role in the upkeep of the two helicopters, which cost £2.2 million each year to maintain.
Anyone wishing to hold a fundraising event on behalf of DAAT can get in touch with the fund-raising team by calling 01392 4666666, email info@daat.org or by logging on to the DAAT website at www.daat.org
