South West property developer Justin Developments has acquired a key development site close to Exeter city centre which is to be revitalised following a decade of dereliction.
The £10m development scheme off Dinham Road on St Davids Hill, will regenerate the site and provide the city with much sought after city centre living.
Justin Developments has named the site Mount Dinham Court, after John Dinham, a noted benefactor of the city.
The grade II listed buildings, which date back to 1862, are to be sensitively restored to provide premium properties in the popular western area of the city.
The Tudor Gothic frontage of the former school will be retained, and a number of sympathetically designed new builds will bring the number of properties available up to 62, providing an eclectic mix of town houses, mews houses and apartments.
Based in Dorset, Justin Developments specialise in building prestigious, high quality, new homes throughout the Westcountry.
A privately owned construction company, it has over 15 years' experience in the industry, and has expertise in building traditional character and contemporary properties.
Martin Hutchings, director of Justin Developments, said: "The success of the recent Princesshay scheme demonstrates the demand for city centre living, however there is still very limited availability in Exeter.
"The site has an interesting history and striking architecture, which we intend to make the most of as the site develops. It has been vacant for ten years and we hope to create a vibrant community in the heart of the Mount Dinham area."
Work on site is underway, with a launch phase planned for March 2008. Ready for completion in spring 2009.
