It may become impossible to escape advertising as mobile phone technology now allows companies to target individuals anywhere with reception

They'll be no escape as new mobile phone advertising technology enables companies to target consumers wherever they are.

Wapple, one of the pioneers of mobile internet site creation, management, billing integration and solutions deployment, has launched a quick and easy way for companies to get a mobile advertising campaign up and running.

The new Wapple Advert Package provides all the tools, templates, tips and advice needed to create and publish a fully interactive mobile advertising site.

Technology now allows ads to be automatically optimised and delivered to thousands of different mobile phones and devices, either as a stand alone ad or part of an integrated, cross-media campaign.

There are now more mobile phones in the UK than people, so mobile advertising looks set to continue its growth as a form of media through which brands, products and services can target consumers.

Anne Thomas, business development director at Wapple, said: "Mobile advertising is set to revolutionise the way companies interact and communicate with their target audience, but it is still a new media and a proper understanding of mobile is needed to get it right."

Describing the benefits of the Wapple Advert Package, she continued: "We provide the knowledge and expertise to take advantage of the unique attributes of mobile, as well as advice on driving traffic to the ad and integrating mobile advertising into existing digital, print and broadcast campaigns."

The package also allows companies to deliver downloadable content as part of the promotion.

Wapple's portfolio already includes MTV, Sonopia, and Metallica mobile sites, and this list is expected to grow. However, while companies may see this technology as another way to direct campaigns at more individuals, it may be the consumer that suffers, receiving unwanted adverts and junk mail texts.
