Gidleigh Park is a beautiful country house hotel set on the banks of the North Teign River in the Dartmoor National Park, with 45 acres of gardens and woodland.

With 24 individually designed rooms, the hotel caters for a wide range of tastes and the staff will go out of their way to ensure all guests have a memorable experience. Each room is uniquely furnished and they all share fantastic views of the parkland, forest or the river. Three of the bedrooms even have their very own spa facilities within the room, for the ultimate in luxury and indulgence!

The Dartmeet spa suite has its own sauna and steam room, marble bath, double shower and heated bed, whilst the Cranbrook spa has two baths side-by-side as well as a sauna and heated bed. Perhaps the most appealing is the suite with a private hot tub on the roof, where guests can enjoy unrivalled views over the Dartmoor countryside.

The hotel welcomes guests of all ages and the Pavilion cottage, located in the grounds of the hotel, is perfect for families. The cottage offers a two-bedroom interconnecting suite and an open plan living room with kitchen so guests can prepare their own meals at their own convenience whilst also enjoying the option of dining in the hotel. The Pavilion is also dog-friendly, so is perfect for those families who love their pet to enjoy their holiday with them. Gidleigh also offers dog kennels which provide a basket, food and a dog lead for those guests who prefer to stay in the hotel.

Perhaps the most exciting feature is the Michelin-starred restaurant, led by executive chef Michael Caines MBE which serves innovative, modern European cuisine. The restaurant offers three different menus: an à la carte menu, a tasting menu which changes weekly and a classic tasting menu, which varies according to the season. This year, the restaurant retained its double Michelin star status which was a real achievement for everyone involved and meant Gidleigh continues to be one of the leading gastronomic experiences in the South West.

Gidleigh provides a fantastic range of activities within the hotel estate, including an 18-hole putting course, designed by the renowned Peter Alliss. This is popular with families and also the keen golfer who prefers to practice their putting skills on a unique and enjoyable course. For the other sports fans, the grounds offer a championship croquet lawn, a bowling green and tennis courts. For the anglers, the North Teign River provides the perfect spot for fly-fishing which can be enjoyed within the grounds or tuition is offered nearby.

As well as a hotel, Gidleigh Park is a fantastic venue for events such as weddings, conferences and business meetings. The hotel has four large reception rooms, all of which are licensed for civil ceremonies. Add to this the most romantic of bedrooms and Michelin-starred cuisine and all the elements are in place for the perfect wedding!

Another interesting event that Gidleigh caters for is exclusive use of the hotel for house parties to celebrate special events or landmark occasions. The hotel can be hired for a minimum of 32 to a maximum of 52 guests and will provide a personalised 7-course menu, in consultation with executive chef Caines.
